Soleil de Capri by Montale

*****
Year: unknown

Notes: Italian citrus, grapefruit, kumquat, Mediterranean spices, white flowers, white musk
Soleil de Capri starts out with a bright and fresh citrus opening, before revealing sweet accords of kumquat and florals. No spices are discernible but the rapid drydown is a nondescript fruity-musk skin scent.

Essentially, it's a more natural-smelling version of Light Blue (men's version) by Dolce & Gabbana, but it fails to build further on the sunny Mediterranean concept by simply mimicking a designer fragrance. Based on its lack of originality and poor lasting power, Diptyque's Oyédo would prove to be a better alternative for those seeking a fun, tart and comparatively long-lasting citrus offering.
